The guides of commercial lighting

There are many types of shops, such as clothing stores, luggage stores, and furniture stores.Different types of shops use different lighting methods.

Basic lighting, decorative lighting, and functional lighting are all different. Further subdividing also requires some personalized lighting supplements according to different commercial places (catering, supermarkets, home stores, etc.).

Due to the variety of lighting methods, the corresponding lamps are also different.

Today, we will come to sort out: the five types of lamps commonly used in business photos, and how to use them.

Spotlight

Spotlights are the most basic use of luminaires in commercial photography and are often used for accent lighting in commercial spaces. It is used to illuminate objects that need to be highlighted, such as goods and decorations, to enhance the effect of the scene.

The biggest feature of spotlights is their high flexibility. The beam is concentrated and the projection angle can be adjusted. Different fixture installation methods can be selected according to the scene effect.

According to the method, it is mainly divided into the following four types:

What we focus on today is the track spotlights and embedded spotlights.

Track spotlight

Rail spotlights, as the name implies, are mounted on rails or mounted directly to ceilings, walls, and are highly flexible and easy to install.

▲ rail spotlight

▲The surface is equipped with multi-track, the industrial style is obvious, and the spotlight can be flexibly moved according to the position of the product.

▲The ceiling is slotted, and the track and lamps are hidden deep into the trough to keep the ceiling clean and beautiful.

▲The spotlights on both sides illuminate the products in the window. The background plate is made of opaque and non-reflective materials, which makes the window more bright.

Embedded spotlight

The embedded spotlight is a kind of spotlight that digs a corresponding size groove on the ceiling according to the size of the face ring of the lamp, and embeds the lamp body into the ceiling. The direction in which the luminaire is projected can be adjusted freely, but the mounting position is fixed.

▲The embedded grille spotlight makes the ceiling more concise.

▲The three lamps are a group to keep the space clean and tidy.

▲The spotlight is both the key lighting and the basic lighting here.

Downlight

Downlights are more concentrating for common surface mounted luminaires, typically for basic or auxiliary lighting, providing uniform lighting for commercial spaces.

In the commercial photo, the embedded downlight is a common installation method, generally a uniform light.

Under the setting without damaging the lamp, the downlight is buried in the ceiling, anti-glare and soft light, which can keep the space simple and uniform.

▲ downlight

▲The lamp is deep in anti-glare, which is good for the refreshing of the ceiling and fits the minimalist theme of the shop.

▲ Downlight as auxiliary lighting.

In addition to illuminating the entire space, the downlight can also illuminate a specific area, such as the rest area in the center of the clothing store. It is distinguished from the area of accent lighting and provides a comfortable light environment.

▲Inline downlights illuminate the floor area.

▲The downlight evenly illuminates the walkway and display area.

Light strip

The lamp strip is divided into a hard strip and a soft strip. Because of its easy shape and controllable length, it is generally used for decorative lighting or auxiliary lighting to create the effect of seeing no light.

In the commercial space, there are three common ways to use the light strip:

The first type: the light strip illuminates and outlines the ceiling in an inline manner.

▲The three methods use the most common one.

The second type: the shelf built-in lights with prominent products.

▲ Each row of the shelf has a built-in light strip in the longitudinal direction to highlight the bag.

The third type: the special device has built-in illumination.

▲ Illuminate the irregular polygon outline and highlight the door frame, which is indicative.

Fluorescent lamp

Fluorescent lamps are often used in retail shops (such as signboards, display stands, etc.) to highlight the location of the store. Especially restaurants and convenience stores need to use lights to stand out in the dark.

▲ 7-11 signs, display boards are basically using fluorescent lights.

Fluorescent lamps can be roughly divided into three categories:

Among them, straight tubular fluorescent lamps are often used in the “concave” shape inside the shop for decoration and color display.

▲T8 brackets can meet the basic lighting, create a visual feeling of “dark and dark”, enhance the sense of spatial openness, and have a guiding effect.

▲The built-in lamp creates a linear light source, which decorates the wall and complements the light environment.

Decorative lights

In addition to the decorations, the commercial space also uses decorative lighting to create a different style for the space, so there are many types of decorative lamps.

chandelier

The style of chandeliers is more, retro style, extravagant style, simple style, etc., according to the characteristics of commercial space. Different from home lighting, because the products are dazzling, the regional classification is obvious, so the commercial ceilings are mostly decorative lighting.

▲The picture comes from the network, and the ceiling is selected according to the space design style to decorate the space.

▲The central ceiling enhances the decorative meaning and also illuminates the countertop as a key illumination.

wall lamp

The wall lamp is an auxiliary lighting decorative lamp installed on the indoor wall, but it appears in restaurants and creative shops.

▲The picture comes from the network, and the wall lamp enhances the retro style of the space.

After introducing these lamps, I believe that everyone has a certain understanding of the lamps.

In fact, for lighting design, there is no such thing as ” conformity “. Different styles can be matched with different lamps, and even you can use your ” whimsical ” to combine and even invent lamps!

Design, there is never a formula at all.
