Editor’s note:

Today, underground transportation is so developed, many large-scale complexes are connected to the subway. In the city center, many integrated shopping malls can also be connected through the cross-street corridors to provide consumers with a more convenient consumer experience. I don’t know if you have been shopping at night. Have you noticed the lighting of the mall overpass? There is a cross-street corridor in Toronto, Canada, which also acts as a landmark checkpoint.

Eaton Center (Eaton Centre) is located in downtown Toronto, Canada, a modern four-storey shopping mall, the entire shopping center design significant natural atmosphere, compact dynamic flow line to make you feel visually colorful in the whole process of shopping, ceiling With a faint blue light, the light changes with time, just like a round of bright moon waving in the night sky.

The Eaton Centre includes two of the city’s most important metro stations, and connects to Canada’s longest department store through the overpass, greatly expanding the shopping space for visitors.

The lighting design of the Eaton Centre Gallery focuses on two aspects: night lighting creates a landmark landmark; and the connection between the two buildings creates an unforgettable experience.

Standing in the corridor, pedestrians are surrounded by warm lighting, and the lighting blends with the buildings of the corridor. The curved surface and the clear lines form a geometrically structured building structure.

The glass exterior of the building refracts the surrounding light, transforming from opaque to transparent , and transforming between tradition and modernity, adding a modern feel to the building. Using the blended lines to outline the building structure on both sides of the corridor, the light moves with the shadows , does not grab the limelight of the building, becomes an absolute green leaf, and highlights the protagonist.

The entire corridor is illuminated by the bottom , making it a scene of the street itself. The uniform light provides pedestrians with functional lighting for guiding and pointing . linear lighting system is equipped with an independent, innovative mounting system designed by MBII that is hidden in the building structure on both sides, which does not affect the appearance and is easy to maintain and maintain.

Despite the technical challenges faced by the project, the expected lighting effect was achieved: both the functional requirements and the simple and elegant lighting were added to the city. The lighting design is carried out by the well-known British design firm SPEIRS + MAJOR. From the lighting equipment and installation methods, the lighting fixtures are cleverly hidden to ensure the simple lines of the building and create a charming lighting experience for the pedestrians.

The design of the corridor has won the favor of the public. Since its opening to the outside world, the number of people visiting this place has been endless. It is considered that the project has well balanced the functional and visual needs of lighting and has become a representative example.
